Have you been scrolling through social media of late? If yes, we’re sure you must have noticed the Bottle Cap Challenge that has generated an incessant discussion on Twitter. Fret not. We’ll tell you all about it in case you are late to the party. The Bottle Cap Challenge reportedly originated on June 25, courtesy of Taekwondo instructor and fighter Farabi Davletchin. But it went viral after mixed martial-artist Max Holloway tried it out followed by several other celebrities. More on that later. For now, here’s a quick description of the Bottle Cap Challenge. A bottle is placed on a table with its cap loosely fixed on it. The person trying it out is required to untwist the cap with a roundhouse kick. Note: The cap should just fly off the bottle, which should remain stationary at that particular moment. Yes, that’s quite a task. Also, the entire challenge has to be recorded Slow Motion Mein to understand whether you’ve actually made it.

Thanks to the latest viral internet challenge, you may have noticed people filming themselves kicking bottles and posting them all over your social media feeds. The #bottlecapchallenge has been doing the rounds, with Ryan Reynolds giving it a go, and failing spectacularly. Originating from the world of MMA, those fellas made it look easy – and now everybody’s trying it. The latest celeb to give it a go is everyone’s favorite celeb, Ryan Reynolds. But unfortunately for him, it didn’t quite go to plan.

In the video, the gin can be seen making its way to him. He immediately knows what he has to do and takes the challenge on fearlessly. However, the bottle goes absolutely flying and he can be seen making a swift exit. Of course, he happens to own the gin company, so he’s probably not too short on bottles to give it another go. The idea is that you are supposed to be testing the accuracy of your skills, by being able to kick the top of the bottle with enough force to take the lid off, but not to knock the bottle over.
Be curious my friends! #challengeaccepted #bottlecapchallenge Passing this on to our guy @JohnMayer …. hey John if you can’t complete this challenge @erlsn and I decided you have to come to Hawaii after your tour and kick it with us until you complete it! 🦶🍾😅 🙏⚡🤙 👊 pic.twitter.com/gLWn0dpOzV

Why? Because of the internet. The video needs to be in slow motion for dramatic effect, obvs. Others though have completely nailed the challenge. Take Max Holloway for example. The Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight champion was challenged by fashion designer Errolson Hugh, and he took it and absolutely smashed it. His video racked up over two and a half million views in the last five days. He then challenged his friend John Mayer, the famous musician.
I couldn't resist 😉#BottleCapChallenge
Inspired by my action idol #JasonStatham, I will repost/retweet the Best I see, come on Guys and Girls get your Bottle out and your Legs in the Air, Let's Do This 💪🏽 #FitIndia #WednesdayMotivation pic.twitter.com/RsDYDWhS5n
— Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) July 3, 2019
He too smashed it, challenging Jason Statham, with loads of other celebrities joining in. Conor McGregor also used the opportunity to promote his drinks brand Proper Whiskey – clever. They show no sign of stopping, with everyone giving the challenge a go. What a bloody time to be alive, eh? The Bottle Cap Challenge also spread to Bollywood soon with Akshay Kumar signing up for it. “I couldn’t resist it,” Akshay wrote in the caption, adding that he was inspired by his “action idol” Jason Statham.
